After emotionally watching the season 7 finale of CBBC The Next Step, here at InCeleb, we have compiled a list of 5 things we loved about season 7 of The Next Step. By being a lover of The Next Step, it was extremely difficult to choose only five things because truthfully we loved them all, but we were ready to take on the challenge of limiting ourselves for the top 5 favourites.
- Piper and Finn finally become a couple.
Our first favourite of The Next Step season 7 is the development of Piper and Finn’s relationship.
In season 6 Piper, played by Alexandra Chaves, became insecure and lost her confidence, this is because of how Miss Angela knocked Piper down about not being a strong dancer. It led to Piper feeling worthless. Along with fighting away her troubles, Finn, played by Liam Mackie, supported Piper with her issues and they gradually became closer.
Despite Piper rejecting Finn’s love, the pair still had a close friendship which we found adorable. Now in season 7, Piper starts to open up her heart by saying yes, and by breaking down her walls, while doing this Piper admits that she has feelings for Finn.
It was adorable to see how their friendship gradually built up to love.

2. The character growth of Summer
In this season, we began to watch Summer, played by Sage Linder, overcome obstacles and challenges.
Throughout Summer’s past, it was clear to see that she wasn’t confident in making tough decisions for herself. Summer has always shown kindness and passion towards her fellow dancers but hasn’t shown enough criticism, and in the dance world, you always have to be honest and opinionated.
When being elected for dance captain, Summer was afraid to be honest because she cared about the feelings of her teammates. But being kind did not help, as Summer felt hurt along the way. Especially when she was betrayed by her team, as they changed her choreography without telling her, not thinking about how she would feel.
After growing as a character, we see Summer develop her confidence and strength back, altogether, in this storyline, it conveyed the message on how you shouldn’t be afraid of speaking up.

3. Amy and Henry reunite
We have always adored Henry and Amy as a couple. Especially since watching the moment they shared in season 6 at the car park, we have been hoping they would get together.
Now season 7 has arrived, Amy and Henry have started their story and resolved the romantic feelings they still have for each other.

4. Lily returns to The Next Step.
Lily, played by Katie Ortencio, betrayed A-Troupe in Season 6 after kicking Piper off the team and working to destroy the studio with her mum, Miss Angela.
Her last kind moment was when Lily stood up to her mum when she was going to bribe the Absolute Dance judge with money to win. When watching this at the end of season 6, we concluded that Lily has got a pure heart after all.
At the beginning of season 7, the show shocked fans when Lily returned to The Next Step, wanting to have the chance to redeem herself and show that she has changed for the better. By auditioning and showing her passion for dance and love for the studio, the dancers gave Lily a chance.

5. B Troupe gets more recognition
Over the previous seasons of The Next Step, we haven’t seen much of an appearance of B-Troupe. However, in season 7, we watch the growth of B-Troupe and the talent they have. For example, we loved how they had a romantic storyline for Cleo and Jude.
The only thing we are waiting to find out is will B-Troupe go to Nationals?
