Throughout the years, society has been surrounded by big important names of music; from Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston and Cyndi Lauper to Mabel, Lewis Capaldi and Olly Murs. It can sometimes be difficult to keep track of upcoming names in music; you never know who is going to appear next in the world of showbiz. So, without further ado let me introduce to you one of the hottest band’s that have recently appeared in the world of music… Angels N Bandits!
Angels N Bandits are a group of young talented people that are managed by 2 iconic band’s The Wanted and The Saturdays. From singing incredible song covers to being on tour, the band have had an amazing journey so far.
During the past week, we were able to talk with Angels N Bandits about their history, musical influences and upcoming work:
For those who don’t know who Angels N Bandits are, could you tell us about who the Angel N Bandits are?
Angels N’ Bandits is a mixed band managed by the team behind top pop bands The Wanted and The Saturdays. The band are aged between 15-17yrs, members Angel (16), Ellie (15), AJ (17), Frankie (17) & Reece (17), although still young, since being together as a band have performed at venues including the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool, The Indigo o2, Event City Manchester, & Hyde Park.
The past 6 months for us as a band has been crazy, working closely with Malcolm Gerrie and the team at Whizz Kid/EOne preparing for their first TV series. We were invited to play a live set at the legendary Glastonbury Festival 2019 and then came the invite to perform on the main stage, as the opening act at Pub In The Park, in front of a crowd of more than 3,000 supporting Tom Odell and Scouting for Girls. Performing main stage at Kidtropolis at Central Convention Centre Manchester we were then invited to perform at Social In The City Winter edition held at the NEC Birmingham. The icing on the cake came when our bandmate Angel, was chosen to sing for Her Majesty The Queen. We are in the middle of their very first tour around the UK and can’t wait to release the rescheduled dates and get back out on tour when the lockdown is finally over and all is safe for everyone to meet in person.
When did Angels N Bandits begin?
We met a good few years ago and trained together at a dance studio in Ruislip, West London. The band pretty much put itself together with a lot of help from the great team we have. Some of us have known each other since we were born and a couple of us have gone through school together. The band is pretty much like a second family to us all.

Why did you want to create the band?
We all shared the same passion and somehow we ended up together. Out of all the people in all the world that could have come together, it’s us. It feels like it was meant to be.
For all the band members, when did you start singing/rapping and was there anyone who inspired you to be in the music career?
Angel – I would say my mother was the first person to inspire me and probably growing up around The Saturdays & The Wanted helped. My parents put them together and managed both chart-topping bands. At the age of 6yrs, I remember waiting backstage at Comic Relief, eyeing up The Saturdays styling rail and successfully walked across the dressing room wearing Rochelle’s Gucci platforms. I always dreamt about being in a band of my own from the first moment I can remember. Being around some great artist/musicians just made me want to be in the music industry even more. Influenced by the likes of Beyoncé, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Christina Aguilera and Jessie J, I can’t imagine doing anything but singing.
AJ – I’m blessed to have a family who supports my dreams to be in a band. As a young Asian/African woman I was encouraged to explore all paths in life. Performing has always been my passion although my traditional Asian cultural background doesn’t encourage careers in performing arts, however, my family have always supported my desire to use my love for music to encourage other Asian women to have a voice in the industry.
Ellie – I’ve been singing my whole life, but professionally I’d say since I was about 10, I’ve always looked up to Rihanna as a performer and singer and have been in love with her music ever since the first time I heard it. Watching Rihanna has helped my love for music grow which inspired me to take singing and performing seriously and make it my career!
My other music influences would have to be Jorja Smith and Ella Mai, both artists have achieved so much at a very young age (early 20’s) and it really helps me see how much hard work pays off! My parents are also my influencers as they push me to be the best I can be and work the hardest I can to achieve greatness.
Reece -I started dancing when I was around 10 years old and that led me to fall in love with music as a whole. The artist that has had the biggest influence on me is Chris Brown. Others are Drake and Stormzy.
Frankie – I first started rapping/singing from about 11/12yrs old when I joined a dance class on Saturday and then ended up joining the singing class. Somehow I found myself in the right place at the right time and ended up in the band. Being part of such a great bunch of people has just made me more hungry to make it my future.
My music influences are Justin Beiber, Drake and Billie Eilish. I love how Justin and Billie just absolutely smashing it. How they both started so young and have achieved so much. Drake is just so consistent with his bangers, every bit of music he makes is amazing.
What are the musical influences of the band?
It’s what’s great about being in a band. We all have our different influences and when they come together it really helps in writing sessions. You could put our sound in the Urban Pop/Rap bracket but like to think we bring an extra something as any artist/band does.
As we know on Angels N Bandits Youtube account there are a variety of beautiful song covers, but will there be any new original music coming soon?
We are working on our first EP. As soon as we can get back in the studio together we will be putting the finishing touches to it for our first-ever release! We can’t wait.

Lastly, in the future will any new tours or new music be coming soon? If there is could you give fans an inside scope of what’s to come?
Our first tour was stopped in its tracks by the lockdown. Plans to announce the new dates are imminent. Watch our socials for an update. Our merch store is going live in the next week. We have plans for a new remix video that we can’t wait to share. There is a podcast coming and we’ve been filming some content for Nickelodeon, chatting about our plans to James Gilmore at Wizard Radio and Dan Wootton at Talk Radio (you can catch up on interviews on our IGTV) of course there is the EP! Exciting times for Angels N Bandits.
As you can see Angels N Bandits are working very hard to make it in the music industry and we cannot wait to hear your new EP and see your new band merchandise!
