Brandon Ambrose releases new single 'On the day you left me' (Hummdrumm records)

Brandon Ambrose’s New Single: Love and Nostalgia in ‘On The Day You Left Me’

From singing in pubs, restaurants, and cooperative venues to bringing heartfelt, engaging performances for residents at care homes, pop sensation Brandon Ambrose does it all, and now he returns in 2026 with a new single, ‘On The Day You Left Me‘ via HummDrumm Records.

Following up from his 2024 track Keep Me Breathing, Brandon continues to pour out the delicate emotions inside his songs, crafting lyrics which speak with honesty and authenticity.

Co-written with Alexis Daperis and David (Dai) Smith, it tugs at the heartstrings, opening up on themes of love, heartbreak and nostalgia. With serene and distinct vocals, every lyric Brandon sings, you can feel every raw emotion unravelling inside the song, from heartache to despair. The tone in his voice and the way he uses this to deliver the lyrics within his songs are cathartic. “On the day you left me, I hoped you wouldn’t forget me/Will my life ever be the same again.”

The track is bittersweet, showing how even when someone you have loved and lost, but still is alive, can still affect you, sending you to thoughts, wondering the ‘what ifs’ and going through different happy and sad memories, where the nostalgia and reflective moments replay inside your mind, becoming hard-hitting.

Unlike ‘Keep Me Breathing‘, the new single slows down the tempo, creating a chilled, laidback melody which makes you swing side to side as you listen to the sentimental lyrics. The country genre, the soft acoustics and the beats of the drum blend nicely, making the song flow, carrying a breezy atmosphere, while impacting you with the soulful lyrics travelling within the track.

Inside ‘On The Day You Left Me‘, the 25-year-old Essex sensation sings with vulnerability, making the track a tribute to someone he misses dearly, but still carries the memories they shared, holding them close to his heart. “Since I met you,/My life’s been stuck on you/I can’t forget you/After all we’ve been through.”

Alongside the moving piece, Brandon releases a music video, conveying the message of travelling through nostalgic memories and being deep in thought. The cinematic video is set in warm fields of barley and features different young couples, making special moments to last a lifetime, even if that is sitting in a field talking and laughing. While this is the common scene, the video adds more emotion by showing people lost in their darkness, playing a movie loop of their relationship inside their heads; both the track and music video combine powerfully together to set the atmosphere inside the song.

With his incredible work so far, Brandon makes it clear he is not going anywhere, determined to carry on rising through the music industry. He remains to bring his heart and soul on every track, revealing his capabilities in music storytelling and transforming personal experiences from love, relationships and identity, into a touching song. Whether that music makes you shed a tear through the use of raw lyrics or adds inspiration and happiness to your day, he knows how to let people resonate with his songs, making them their own.
