Pop sensation Charli XCX walks us through the moors and the fields where an undeniable passionate love story takes place between Cathy Earnshaw and Heathcliff inside her new album ‘Wuthering Heights‘.
The album comes alongside the release of Emerald Fennell’s ‘Wuthering Heights’ movie adaptation, featuring stars Margot Robbie as Cathy and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff.
Emily Brontë’s 1847 novel is one of the greatest works of literature, capturing themes of passionate and forbidden love, romance, revenge and reconciliation. In Charli XCX’s new album, she has a talent for capturing the empowering and emotional narrative that unravels in Cathy and Heathcliff’s fiery relationship.
The twelve tracks delve deep into the emotions conveyed throughout the epic true love story written by Brontë. Starting with ‘House‘ featuring the vocals f Velvet Underground musician, John Cale, the chilling song performs a poem displaying the Wuthering Heights story, stating how “I just want to explain/Explain the circumstances/I find myself in/What and who I really am/I’m a prisoner/To live for eternity/I was thinking, “What is this place?/I thought it would be perfect/I thought, “I want it to be perfect”
The album tracks, such as ‘Chains of Love‘ and ‘Out of Myself‘, create intensifying feelings of being in love and the rollercoaster of emotions you go through to try and be with the one person you want to be with, but try to fight against it.
Why not listen to the ‘Wuthering Heights‘ album now, and while you’re listening to the wonderful soundtrack, why not also watch the new movie of ‘Wuthering Heights‘ now?
